Our last day – quelle tristesse (how sad). We had fallen into the habit of a pre-breakfast on the way to breakfast, so had a final Pain au Raisin as we walked to a final brekky at Le Pain Quotidien and a final walk through some of our favourite streets in the Marais district.
We then had a final round of macarons and also a frambois Marcaron that I had been eyeing off for days…
We rounded off our stay with this last 10km, bringing our Parisian trek to around 130km!
We then lugged our suitcases down the 119 stairs and caught a taxi to Gare due Nord to catch the train to Brussels. The taxi was immaculate, the driver very pleasant and the traffic calm. We arrived very early! All I could think was how horrified Parisians would be if they hopped in a taxi with a caged in driver and less than clean car at Sydney airport! Our taxi was clean with pristine leather seats and the trip cost us only 8 Euro.
